JBF Paper Document Shredders

In comparison with most other data media, information on paper documents can usually be read by anyone without specific reading instruments. This can be private, business or confidential information. When a document becomes obsolete or is not needed any more, the contained data shall or have to be rendered unreadable properly to comply with applicable data security regulations. Shredding is the preferred and proven method for secure paper document destruction.

There are various technologies from single- up to four-shaft-designs available with low and high rotational speed. For proper shredding, sufficient motor power, carefully adapted knife geometries and specially selected knife qualities are required. High throughput requirements or fully automated shredding processes can be met by dual or triple stage shredding systems. JBF offers DataCut machines with proven dual shaft technology and low r.p.m. for a smooth shredding process and limitation of spark generation and heat-build-up for standard security requirements up to 3,200 kg/h throughput. For high and paramount security requirements, JBF offers a line of fast spinning single-shaft disintegrators with sizing screens. These can be combined with a dual shaft shredder and magnet separator for processing of up to 900 kg/h complete ring binders in security level P7 according to DIN 66399.

Depending on data contained, different regulations may apply. For private and commercial data DIN 66399 gives advice on required destruction levels P1 up to P7, depending on the applicable security level. Governmental institutions, armed forces and central intelligence have specific standards (NSA, NATO-SDIP, CPNI, DIPCOG,...). When selecting your shred size please note that with decreasing particle sizes the shredder becomes more expensive, the throughput rate decreases and above level P4 the paper cannot be recycled anymore and in many countries is regarded and charged as special waste at disposal.

Usually shredding will increase the volume of the paper. For volume reduction JBF is prepared to offer specially modified baling presses or compacting skips to handle the tiny paper shreds in an automated manner. Based on our wide experience in such applications JBF will ensure that only proven solutions with required or recommended accessories are suggested to you. For special applications like banknote destruction JBF is prepared to offer suitable briquetting presses for ultimate compaction as well.

Rugged and proven feed and discharge conveyor belts or air systems are available for transport of the material to and from the shredders. When supplied with drawings of your building, JBF will prepare a proposal for the shredder and individually adapted conveying media and submit 2D and 3D drawings to you for further discussion.

Tipping devices allow for convenient emptying of data collecting bins. The JBF tipper can be adapted to the commonly used bins, is equipped with a safety fence with door and will tip the bin step-by-step onto the conveyor to the shredder, whereas an ultrasonic sensor will ensure to not overfill the conveyor.

To comply with existing regulations, JBF is prepared to deliver a range of dust extractors to provide for clean air in the shredding room.

All JBF machines are delivered fully wired. Where cable-disconnects are necessary for transport, these are executed with plugs, so that even non-electricians can do the install themselves. Also within the machines there are plug-connections where reasonable, like at the main drives of the cutting units, so that these can be disassembled for repair by mechanics without involving electrical specialists.
